YARN SUPPORT

HELLO FELLOW DESIGNERS!

We are finally able to launch our first Yarn Support Pilot! Before we jump in, I want you to know that I am not only a shop owner, but I am also a fellow Designer, so I understand just how important yarn support is. I know first-hand how much YOUR design, helps sell OUR yarn. I appreciate and respect your time, efforts, creativity, and sacrifice.

That said, I have designed our Yarn Support Pilot to be a partnership, where we both win! So, let’s get started.

what type of designs/designers are we looking for?

Simply put EVERYTHING and EVERYONE! Since this is a Pilot run, we’re open to any and every type of project/design that uses yarn.

  • Of course, we want Crochet and Knit Designers, but we’re also looking for Weavers, Plastic Canvas, Macramé, and Tufting, Designers, as well.

  • Up-and-coming Designers! You do not have to be an established Designer.

  • Independent Designers (you do not need a book or magazine deal on the table). Etsy and Ravelry shops are perfectly fine, if not better!

  • BIPOC, Women, Men, LGBTQ, young Designers (etc) are highly encouraged to reach out.

  • We welcome proposals for: garments, accessories, arugami, dolls, doll clothing, stuffed animals, home goods, jewelry, animals, animal clothing, rug making, crewel (etc).

what you get

  • You, the Designer, will retain ALL rights to your design/pattern. GuChet will not, under any circumstance, sell or distribute your pattern/design.

  • Yarn needed to complete the entire design.

  • In some cases, GuChet will also provide Notions and Tools to use (this will be determined on an individual basis).

  • Your design/pictures will be highlighted/promoted on our Website and all social media platforms.

    “TO BUY/DOWNLOAD PATTERN” will link back to you.
    “TO BUY YARN” will link back to GuChet.

  • No rush/deadline to complete your design. We do ask that you periodically let us know the status of your design.

  • Opportunities to participate in future collabs and/or projects, using GuChet Yarns and products.

(Please note: You, the Designer, will be responsible for publishing, editing, testing, photography, and marketing your design).

what GUCHET getS

  • GuChet will get images (lots of images/videos) of the design process, and of the final design.

  • Our yarn listed within your design/pattern and hyperlinked back to our website.

  • Credit/Tagged (@guchet) on your social media platforms, when mentioning the yarn used in the design.

    “TO BUY/DOWNLOAD PATTERN” will link back to you.
    “TO BUY YARN” will link back to GuChet.

  • If your design will be available on Ravelry, we ask that you link GuChet’s yarn, to the yarn stash (Note: our yarns are already in the “stash”).

  • We ask that you let us know 2-3 weeks, prior to releasing your design/pattern, so that we can make sure to have the yarn available.

Please compile all the required materials (below) into a single pdf document and email to crochetbyguchet@gmail.com (Note: the more detail you provide upfront, the sooner we can assist).

  1. Design/pattern description

  2. Sketches/images of your design

  3. Yarn type desired (our selection is small, but growing)

  4. Quantity of yarn needed (yardage or number of skeins)

  5. Desired color (see color options 👉https://www.guchet.com/guchetyarns)

  6. Anticipated release date (mth/yr)

  7. Sites/platforms the design will marketed/sold on (i.e. Etsy, Ravelry, Magazine, FB Marketplace, Annies, Pinterest, Your Website, etc.)

  8. Size you will be making (if applicable)

  9. Include links to your previously published designs/patterns (Note: please let us know if this will be your first published design).

  10. We want to get to know you! Please provide the following:

  • Website

  • Ravelry link           

  • Pinterest           

  • Etsy page

11.   Please provide your contact information:

  • Your Name

***Yarn support requests will be considered on an individual basis.

You can also mail your design idea to us; however, we do ask that you do the following:

  • Include a large, self-addressed, stamped envelope to accommodate the return of your material (Please do not send irreplaceable work of any kind).

  • Allow an additional week for us to respond to you (so a total of 21 business days)

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once you’ve submitted your design for consideration, we will:

  • Look through all the details you provided and if accepted

  • Contact you within 14 days via email or telephone (21 days if your proposal was sent via snail mail)

  • Ship your yarn out ASAP

*** We will do our best to assist as many designers as possible, but we’re a small company and not able to accept all request.
